Zoku

Terms of service

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE]

Draft, not yet in effect. The details in brackets are filled in before Zoku launches.

These terms are the agreement between you and [OWNER] (“we” and “us”), who runs Zoku. By creating an account or using Zoku, you agree to them. Please read them, along with the privacy policy, which says how Zoku handles your information.

1. Who can use Zoku

2. Your content

Your logs, scores, tags, reviews, verdicts and ranking are yours. So that Zoku can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, show and format that content inside Zoku, including showing it to other Zoku users. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in logs that our providers delete on their own schedule.

You're responsible for what you post. Only post what you have the right to post, and put anything that spoils a story in the spoiler section, so other fans can choose whether to read it.

3. Rules

When you use Zoku, don't:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Show information

Show information and artwork come from TMDB. This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB. The titles, artwork and characters of the anime in Zoku belong to their owners. Zoku isn't affiliated with them, and shows them only to identify what you're rating.

5. Zoku itself

The Zoku app, its design, its code and its name belong to [OWNER]. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app under these terms. Don't copy, modify or resell it, or try to extract its source code. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them without owing you anything.

6. Changes to Zoku

Zoku is free. It's also young, so features will change, and some may be added or removed. We may change or stop Zoku, or any part of it. If we stop it altogether, we'll tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings, then Delete account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms, or if we have to in order to protect other people or Zoku. Sections 2 (for content already shared), 4, 5, 8, 9 and 10 still apply after your account ends.

8. Disclaimers

Zoku is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, error free, or that show information is accurate or complete.

9. Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Zoku. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited by agreement.

10. The law that applies

These terms are governed by [GOVERNING LAW]. If you live in a country whose consumer law gives you more protection, you keep it.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version goes here with a new date, and if a change matters, Zoku will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Zoku after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
